Charlotte County Fire

Saturday morning, we responded to a report of a fire at Wally’s BBQ. Since the restaurant is close to Station 1, they were the first crew to arrive and found a fire in the back of the restaurant. The crews quickly got to work put out the fire but not before it did moderate damage to the rear exterior of the restaurant where they kept the smokers. Thankfully, the fire did not extend into the building and there was only very light smoke inside that we were able to quickly ventilate.

The apparent cause of the fire was due to a smoker that was cooking overnight but it is undetermined in what caused the fire to start.

Saturday evening, as a thank you for saving his business, the owner of Wally’s delivered large portions of bbq and brisket to Station 1.

Unfortunately, the owner believes his restaurant will be closed for 10-14 days while repairs are made to the exterior wiring damaged by the fire.
