Individual arrested in connection with the shooting homicide in Sarasota on Saturday

Update: Richard Minor, 66, is arrested in connection with the deadly shooting near Hart’s Landing on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Minor is facing multiple charges, including Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. He is being transported to the Sarasota County Jail.

Sarasota Police are investigating a shooting that took place near the 900 block of John Ringling Causeway shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
An adult victim is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
All involved parties are on the scene and are cooperating with the investigation. The public is not in any danger.
