Suncoast: Felon arrested in 12th St. W. shooting that injured two bar patrons

A multi-jurisdictional investigation led by the Bradenton Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) has resulted in the arrest of Derrell Scott, 53, in connection with the July 26 shooting at a bar in the 400 block of 12th St. W. Two people were hit by gunfire. One victim was in an argument with Scott shortly before the shooting. The second victim was a bystander. Both are recovering from their injuries.

 

Following an extensive investigation, Scott was taken into custody on Monday, July 29, in Osceola County, with the assistance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Fort Myers, the FDLE Orlando Fugitive Task Force, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Felony Squad, and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.

 

Scott faces charges of attempted murder in the second degree, aggravated battery, felon in possession of a firearm, and use of a firearm by a convicted felon. The investigation is ongoing.
