NPPD responds to a report of a Florida Black Bear along Tidwell Street

Ay Boo-Boo! This past weekend NPPD responded to a report of a Florida Black Bear along Tidwell Street in the North Port Estates area. The caller advised he had seen the bear on his trail camera previously but the bear is now coming closer to the residence. Real close.
Residents in the area should secure their garbage cans and other food sources (picnic baskets) to prevent the bear from easily finding food and continuing to inhabit the neighborhood.
MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife is also aware. They have advised that residents should contact them if the bear is sighted in the area.
