Sarasota Police investigate late night homicide

Sarasota Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place near the intersection of Dixie Avenue and 24th Street shortly after 1 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
One adult victim died from the injuries sustained in the shooting.
This incident appears isolated, and there’s no immediate danger to the public.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
