Most Sarasota County Government offices closed July 4

SARASOTA COUNTY – Most Sarasota County Government offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
Closed on Thursday, July 4:
- All Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources offices and facilities.
- Sarasota County University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences Extension and Sustainability offices (UF/IFAS).
- Sarasota County Breeze Transit administrative offices and ticket outlets.
- Breeze regular bus and Plus services.
- Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources recreation facilities and the Knight Trail Park pistol and rifle range.
- All solid waste facilities, including the Central County Landfill, the Citizens’ Convenience Center and the Chemical Collection Centers.
- Resilient SRQ Housing Recovery case managers will be unavailable.
- Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections.
Closed on Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5:
- The Florida Department of Health – Sarasota County
- Sarasota County Tax Collector
- Sarasota County Property Appraiser
- Sarasota County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller
Revised hours:
- The Central County Landfill will remain open until 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, due to the holiday collection schedule; however, the Construction and Demolition (C&D) area will close at 2 p.m. All customers unloading by hand should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing.
- There will be a one-day shift to the regular collection schedule for trash, recycling and yard waste after the holiday. Curbside collection will run as follows:
– Monday, July 1, Tuesday, July 2 and Wednesday, July 3 – no changes
– Thursday, July 4 – no collection services
– Friday, July 5 – collection for Thursday customers
– Saturday, July 6 – collection for Friday customers
Operating under normal hours on Thursday, July 4:
- The Breeze 77 Siesta Islander, Breeze 76 Flyer and OnDemand services will operate under normal hours.
