The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sarasota man on 127 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Detectives received two tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) after two separate photos depicting child pornography were transmitted over Facebook. Through investigation, detectives utilized the IP address used to upload the photos to identify John Scott, DOB 10/31/92, as the suspect. Through investigation, detectives gained access to Scott’s Gmail account which revealed an additional 127 images depicting child pornography with victims ranging in age from toddler to 12 years old. Thursday afternoon detectives executed a search warrant at Scott’s home in the 4900 block of Tern Street and took him into custody.
