Everything you need to know about the 4th of July City of Venice fireworks display

We’re just a couple weeks away from the City’s annual July 4th fireworks display!
Here’s what you need to know:
• The fireworks are shot from the South Jetty with a test shot firing off around 8:30 p.m. and show starting around 9 p.m.
• Mariners should anchor by 8:15 p.m. as the jetty inlet will close at 8:30 p.m. and reopen 30 minutes after the grand finale
• The show is approximately 30 minutes long and conducted by professional technicians from Pyrotecnico
• Humphris Park at the South Jetty is closed to the public, it’s the blast zone
Where can you watch from?
• Area beaches including the North Jetty, Nokomis, Venice, Brohard, and Caspersen
• Intracoastal waterway including Snake Island and the Gulf of Mexico
• Area parks including North Jetty, Grasier, Maxine Barritt, Brohard, and Higel Marine
• Waterfront restaurants including Sharky’s on the Pier, Fin’s, Crows Nest, Dockside Waterfront Grill, and Nokomo’s Sunset Hut
