Sarasota Police investigating fatal motorcycle crash

The Sarasota Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
A motorcycle and a pick-up truck crashed at the intersection of S Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) and Grove Street.
The motorcyclist died from injuries sustained in the crash at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
ORIGINAL (7:15 p.m.): Sarasota Police officers are investigating a crash that occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of S Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) and Grove Street. NB lanes of U.S. 41 are shut down from Webber Street to Morris Street, and will likely be closed for hours. We will let you know when the road reopens. This crash is under investigation.
