North Port man charged with animal cruelty

Richard Holbine is accused of leaving his dog alone inside a mobile home for an extended period without adequate food or water, resulting in unsafe and unsanitary living conditions. He has been charged with animal cruelty under Florida law.
 
According to the probable cause affidavit, Animal Services Officer A. Gassler responded to a report of a dog that had been left alone inside a mobile home. The reporting party, told investigators he had not seen Holbine for a while, but believed the dog was still inside the residence. Through investigations, they found that Richards social media postings indicated that he would be out of town for an extended amount of time.
 
When the trailer was opened, a white-and-brown pit bull mix emerged. Investigators found no food available for the dog, only contaminated water, and floors covered with urine and feces throughout the home.
 
Richard has been arrested today and charged with:ANIMAL CRUELTY: IMPOUND CONFINE ANIMAL W/O SUFFICENT FOOD/WATR. Booking # 202600007309
