Join us at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at the Lido Beach Pavilion as we celebrate the completion of the Lido Beach renourishment project!
In partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, this fully federally funded effort restored 1.2 miles of shoreline using 300,000 cubic yards of sand sourced locally from the dredging of New Pass. Lido Beach stayed open throughout the project, which was carefully scheduled around sea turtle and shorebird nesting seasons.
Before the ceremonial ribbon cutting, attendees will hear remarks from Mayor Debbie Trice, Interim City Manager Jennifer Jorgensen, a Lido Key neighborhood representative, and Maj. Cory Bell, USACE Deputy Commander for South Florida. U.S. Rep. Greg Steube and State Rep. Fiona McFarland will also be in attendance.
