Sarasota Police officers conducting death investigation of a juvenile child

The Sarasota Police Department is investigating the death of a juvenile child. The age and gender of the child is not being released currently.
 
A call came into Sarasota County dispatch at approximately 8 a.m. on Monday, May 11, in the 2800 block of Dixie Avenue, for a child who was not responsive.
 
Officers and EMS paramedics worked to revive the child until they were transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where they later died.
 
Circumstances surrounding the child’s death are under investigation at the time. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sarasota Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 941-263-6070.
