Sarasota Police investigating early morning attempted armed robbery and shooting; No injuries

The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened this morning at about 5:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of 23rd Street, Sarasota.
Preliminary information is that a suspect, an unknown man or woman and what age, came out from being hidden nearby and attempted to rob a man who was just driving out of his driveway. The suspect was last seen dressed in dark clothing running south from the area.
The suspect fired multiple shots at the vehicle, but the victim was not hurt.
