Deputies find cocaine, guns, drugs and more in Englewood home raid as man arrested – gc news

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit served a search warrant on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, with the assistance of SWAT at 7468 Michael St, in Englewood. This investigation stemmed from an investigation the Narcotics Unit conducted on Matthew Taylor (04/25/1996). Earlier this year, the Narcotics Unit conducted a buy bust arrest of an individual who was trafficking cocaine and selling it to undercover detectives. Through the investigation, it was discovered that Taylor was the supplier. During surveillance on Taylor, detectives observed him making multiple drug sales from his home and around Charlotte County daily. This ultimately led to a search warrant at Taylor’s home on 7468 Michael St. During the search warrant, Taylor was apprehended and taken into custody. The following items were located inside Taylor’s home during the search.
 
1.57 pounds of cocaine
8.22 pounds of marijuana
50 Adderall pills
$21,840 in cash
Money counter machine, baggies and scales
Firearm (22 Caliber Rifle)
 
At the conclusion, stemming from a previous buy walk, Matthew Taylor (04/25/1996) was placed under arrest for the following:
 
Trafficking in Cocaine X2
Possession of Cocaine with intent to distribute
Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia X2
Violation of Probation X2
 
The money was seized for forfeiture.
