Just as Sarasota County and the City of Venice are reinstating burn bans, the City of North Port is rescinding their burn ban.

The City of North Port – Government

From North Port Fire Rescue: In accordance with City Code Section 26-15 and Section 26-23, the Fire Chief for the City of North Port has determined that an extraordinary fire hazard no longer exists as we enter typical seasonal weather patterns and increased precipitation. As a result, the Outdoor Burning Ban has been rescinded and is no longer in effect.

Residents are encouraged to review the guidelines on what outdoor burning is permitted by visiting the link below. While the burn ban has been lifted, we strongly recommend extreme caution and due diligence with any outdoor fire. Conditions remain dry, and it only takes a small spark to create a large incident. Please take every precaution to prevent fires from getting out of control.
