Sarasota Police help Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office investigation, seize Glock switches

The Sarasota Police Department SWAT, Community Action Team (CAT) officers and Strategic Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives executed a search and arrest warrant at a home at 1579 28th St. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026.
The warrants were completed in conjunction with Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as part of an ongoing investigation. Sarasota Police officers initially were at the home to serve an arrest warrant for Justus Mills, 20, of Sarasota, who was wanted on four Hillsborough County charges, including possession and sale of Glock switches, a gun accessory capable of converting a gun into a fully automatic weapon.
Mills was arrested and charged with five felony counts:
- Three counts possession and sale of bump stocks,
- Unlawful use of two-way communications.
While Sarasota Police were at the home, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies established probable cause for the arrest of Gevynn Cisneros, 22, of Sarasota, who was also at the home.
Cisneros was arrested and charged with five felony counts:
- Three counts possession and sale of bump stocks,
- Unlawful use of two-way communications.
After their arrests, Sarasota Police officers attained additional evidence resulting in the following charges:
- Mills: Possession of a firearm by felony delinquent.
- Cisneros: Possession of marijuana is over 20 grams.
Desman Kennedy, 21, of Sarasota was seen leaving the home and was arrested. He’s facing a felony charge of lewd and lascivious battery against a victim under 12.
The following items were seized during the warrant:
- Semi-automatic shotgun
- Extended magazines
- Shotgun ammunition
- Miscellaneous 9mm and .22-caliber ammunition
- Marijuana paraphernalia
- 228.9 grams of marijuana
