A convicted felon is returning to prison for up to 15 years, thanks to an investigation by the Bradenton Police Department, Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
This week, a Manatee County jury found Jibri Arrington, 33, guilty of possession of a machine gun and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
On December 15, 2024, BPD Crime Reduction Team (CRT) Officer Enzo Rovira responded to a report of an improperly parked car in the 300 block of 13th St W. A firearm and high-capacity magazine were visible in the car’s floorboard. Officer Rovira determined the weapon was a Glock handgun equipped with a “switch.” A Glock switch converts a semi-automatic pistol into a fully automatic machine gun.
The car’s owner denied owning the gun. Through a subsequent investigation, Officer Rovira determined that the gun belonged to Arrington, a passenger in the vehicle. He was arrested in August, 2025.
Arrington has a prior conviction in Sarasota County for attempted murder. He was released from prison in 2023 and was on probation at the time of his arrest.
