Venice Pier to close 10/18 for Suncoast Reef Rovers cleanup

The Venice Municipal Fishing Pier at 1600 Harbor Dr. S. will be closed to the public on Saturday, Oct. 18 through approximately 1 p.m. for the Suncoast Reef Rovers’ annual underwater cleanup.

 

Divers typically collect hundreds of pounds of debris, including old crab traps, rope, nets and monofilament line. The Venice Police Department and Venice Fire Rescue will help support the event.

 

Divers, snorkelers, kayakers and topside volunteers are always needed. Sign up using this link: https://forms.gle/q2JrKWPVe5iHrUjh7. There will be a mandatory safety briefing at 9:30 a.m. for all helpers. Sharky’s on the Pier will provide lunch for volunteers after the cleanup.
