VPD investigating a death on Lillian St in Venice

This morning, at approximately 8:58 a.m., Venice Police Department officers responded to a call regarding a suspected death at a residence located in the 1000 block of Lillian Street. Venice Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene due to the need for safety protocols for first responders before entry to the home. Unfortunately, upon entry, a deceased male was located within the residence.

The VPD Detective Division and Crime Scene Unit assumed control of the investigation. The investigation remains active, and further details will be released as appropriate.

At this time, no foul play is suspected and there is no threat to the public. The family has been notified and is receiving support. An increased law enforcement presence is expected while VPD conducts the investigation.
