CASE UPDATE: THREE ARRESTED IN AUG. 25TH MURDER
Zyquan Kit, 17; Jeremiah Lilly, 18; and Star Stewart, 15, are charged with felony murder with a firearm.
Around 11:30 p.m., on August 25, officers responded to a shooting in the 400 block of 11th Ave. E. and found Dunbar suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Detectives determined that Dunbar, Kit, Lilly, and Stewart were all at the 11th Ave. E. home the night of August 25. They devised a plan to rob a fifth person, Kit’s drug dealer, and invited the man over. Kit approached the dealer’s car and attempted to distract him. However, the man noticed Dunbar, Stewart, and Lilly, who were wearing masks, approaching. Two of the suspects were carrying guns. The dealer fired toward the suspects in self-defense, and one suspect returned fire.
Because Dunbar was killed in the commission of an attempted armed robbery, Kit, Lilly, and Stewart are charged with felony murder. The State Attorney’s Office will determine if they will be charged as adults.
