Overnight armed robbery in North Port

Around 4:00 a.m. Friday morning, NPPD responded to a reported armed robbery at the 7-Eleven gas station near Toledo Blade and Cranberry Boulevards. A black suspect, wearing a black hoodie, mask, gloves, and sunglasses, entered the store, pointed a firearm at employees, and demanded cash before fleeing on foot.
It is believed that the suspect then entered a dark-colored sedan vehicle and went south on I-75.
There are now reports of multiple incidents with the same suspect(s) in other jurisdictions to our north throughout Florida.
