Suncoast: House fire leads to one person being transported to the hospital

At 3:24 p.m., Charlotte County Fire & EMS was dispatched to a residential structure fire on the corner of Oswego Street and Riverhead Avenue. The caller reported hearing crackling and seeing black smoke. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the home.
One patient was transported to a local hospital, while two others were patient refusals.
The Charlotte County Fire Marshal determined the fire to be accidental, caused by smoking.
