
Venice police respond to a reckless discharge of a firearm call in Bay Indies

This evening, Venice Police officers responded to a call in the Bay Indies community regarding a resident discharging a firearm into the air while experiencing a mental health crisis.
Officers arrived quickly and were able to safely take the individual into custody without any injuries.
The subject was taken into custody under the Baker Act and transported to the nearest receiving facility for evaluation. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
