Boat catches fire on Saturday morning in Port Charlotte

At 11:07 a.m., crews were dispatched to a fire at a boat storage facility on Appleton Blvd. Upon arrival, firefighters found a catamaran fully involved, with fire spread to a nearby boat and surrounding trees.

Thanks to the work of our crews, both on the ground and from above using Truck 2, the fire was contained to the two boats and nearby vegetation. There were no injuries reported. The cause of this fire is electrical undetermined.

Responding units: Engine 3, Engine 4, Engine 2, Engine 15, Engine 8, Truck 2, Rescue 14, Battalion 3, Battalion 2, and Englewood Area Fire Control District‘s Engine 76.
