Sarasota: Registered sex offender gets sentenced to 40-years for sexual battery and more on children

Registered sex offender Stephen Manning, DOB 7-18-1947, was sentenced last week to over 40 years in the Florida State Prison on charges from a 2023 SCSO case where he was arrested on 2 felonies — Sexual Assault: Sexual Battery (child 12-17 years old) and Lewd or Lascivious Behavior: Molestation (child12-16 years old).

 

Manning had been previously charged in Pennsylvania on 2 counts of aggravated indecent assault and sentenced to 8-16 months with 5 years of probation.

 

This case highlights the hard work of our Special Victims Unit in tracking down these criminals and assisting in their prosecution. We are thankful for their outstanding work in making our community safer!
