North Port: After a 5-year wait, justice is finally served in the murder of Tyren Kinard

NPPD: On September 8, 2018 21-year-old Tyren Anthony Kinard of Port Charlotte was found murdered near the Charlotte County line on Sawyer Circle. After a more than five year wait, a conviction was finally served. Friday, the defendant, 21-year-old Juan Salazar-Diaz of Punta Gorda was found guilty of murder, grand theft auto and possession of a firearm by a felon.  We hope that the hard work of NPPD officers, staff and the State Attorney’s Office 12th Judicial Circuit will help bring some closure to the Kinard family and some justice for a young man gone too soon.
