The City of Venice has officially closed on the purchase of a 2.33-acre property located at 252 Seaboard Ave. for $1.4 million.

The future plan for this property, a former cement plant, is to reclaim the property as a public park with green space and public parking to support the Seaboard Improvement District. This parcel connects to the existing 2.4-acre Public Works site, currently used by the Solid Waste and Fleet divisions, that the City is planning to vacate, giving the City 4.7 acres of available land in the Seaboard area. This property will serve as an important public infrastructure investment to support the future enhancement and redevelopment of the Seaboard Improvement District.
