City of Venice says the Bay Indies HOA needs to deal with the issues that continue in this senior community

Francesco Abbruzzino, The Uncensored Report, LLC

** update ** I talked to Earle with the Herald Tribune. He told me that Southern Baptist will provides tarps, but home owners need to contact them at 941.473.6397.

The Bay Indies issues with the seniors there have gotten a few residents upset and rightfully so.  On Sunday I posted about several mobile homes not having roofs, with people just leaving it all behind.  However, there are others staying there because they have nowhere else to go.  So, I put out a video and a call for help.

Today I put out about the individual that tried to kill himself after the hurricane, due to the stress and losses that came along with it.

Today I have been contacted by a few people and will discuss two of the conversations.

Tonya.  She called Gov. DeSantis office over the inaction by the City of Venice on the issue.  Their representative said the emailed the mayor and he did not get back to them, but Nick Pachota did.  Nick allegedly told them that all if fine in Venice with no issues.  I believe he could have said this, after hearing him in another interview state that the city dodged a bullet with Ian.   Tonya is really concerned about the inaction and that fact that the city does not have a plan for helping the seniors that have no relatives and quite frankly do not know where to turn to for help. She indicated to me that the city was not aware of any issues in Bay Indies, based upon her conversation with an individual (I now the person, but purposely withholding their name) that talked to the City Manager. A reporter talked to City Manager and he said that he was aware of the situation at Bay Indies and working through it. Perhaps the reporter called the City Manager after the other individual talked with him…………… Seems to be a disconnect here.

Missy.  She wrote me today and stated that she asked the City of Venice what was being done about Bay Indies.  The person responded back: I made a comment on the cities Facebook page, and they said their HOA should be the one helping, anyone know if they’re getting any response from that…….  Missy asked me about it and I told her that during my video interview with Nick and Joe this weekend they stated that they have not heard from the HOA or landowners.  They told me that the building was locked up.

I can tell you that the struggle is real there and I am sure the seniors there are going through a lot.  I remember on Sunday while helping 79-year-old Nick with his roof, looking over to the next street.  I saw a lady that had to be in her late sixties shovel debris out of her home.  This was five days after the storm.

I am not sure what can be done. To be quite honest I thought the city would have had a plan for the seniors.  Even if it is a one-page document telling them what to do and listing resources.  For example, if a roof is caved in and they are all alone as many are, what can they do?  What resources are there?  There are many seniors in the retirement capital of the US, so I cannot imagine that this is only a Bay Indies issue.  Thoughts?

You an email the city and maybe if enough pressure is put on them, they will utilize their resources to help the seniors in need.   You can write Ed Lavallee (City Manager) at  [email protected]

The video from my interview on Sunday and the tragic posting about the attempted suicide are below.
