Sarasota Police Execute Search Warrant; Leads to Arrests & Seizure of Illegal Narcotics

The Sarasota Police Department executed a search warrant at a home at 1119 40th Street, Sarasota, on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 10 a.m.  The search warrant was executed after a man died of a cocaine and fentanyl overdose death at the home in May 2022, complaints from residents and numerous undercover drug buys from the home over the last several months.  Three adults were arrested, and illegal narcotics and a firearm were seized from the home.

Charles Allen, 54, of Sarasota, was arrested and is facing charges of:

  • Trafficking in Cocaine 28g – 200g (Felony)
  • Possession of a Structure for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Felony)

Sheena Denrow, 37, of Sarasota, had a warrant for Sale of Cocaine within 1000’ of a Park.  She was arrested and is facing charges additional charges of:

  • Trafficking in Cocaine 28g – 200g (Felony)
  • Possession of a Structure for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Felony)

Derek Morgan, 41, of Sarasota, had a warrant for Sale of Cocaine within 1000’ of a Park.  He was arrested and is facing charges additional charges of:

  • Two counts of Trafficking in Cocaine 28g-200g (Felony)
  • Possession of Conveyance of Structure for Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Felony)

The following illegal narcotics and currency were seized from the home:

  • 38.7 grams of crack cocaine were found in the living room
  • 35 grams of powder cocaine were found in a bedroom
  • Smith & Wesson .40 Semi-Automatic which was stolen out of Sarasota County
  • $2,701 in U.S. currency was found on Derek Morgan

“We are going to continue to execute search warrants in the City of Sarasota,” said Chief Rex Troche.  “If you live in the City of Sarasota and you see illegal activity happening in your neighborhood, call us. You can remain anonymous.  We’ll investigate every tip, and we’ll continue to work to stop illegal narcotics in our beautiful city,” said Chief Troche.
