Only 15 days to register as a candidate in the Venice elections, right now there are four unopposed candidates

** Update ** Rumor has it that Dick Longo has a meeting with the city today to file to run for Seat 2, opposing the only Democrat that has signed up to run.
Just over 14 days for any resident who has been a registered voter in the city for 12 consecutive months prior to the first day of qualifying, to register as a candidate. Right now all four seats have a candidate, but no challenger. Three are Republican’s or right leaning and one Democrat, in this bi-partisan race. 🙂
The qualifying week for the 2022 election begins at 12 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022.
