Francesco Abbruzzino, The Uncensored Report, LLC

NPPD

On Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 9:56 pm, North Port Police Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Cathedall Avenue here in the City, in reference to a physical altercation. The caller advised of a fight between two adult males and that one was needing CPR. The caller also advised that the other individual had left the scene.

Once officers arrived they found the male in distress, unconscious, and not breathing. First responders started life saving measures. NPFD was able to obtain a pulse and transported the male to Sarasota Memorial Hospital ER North Port.

Detectives began an investigation. Detectives were able to obtain eye witness accounts and video surveillance (not releasable at this time due to active investigation). The two individuals involved are known to each other and have had previous run-ins. The evidence clearly indicates that the victim was sitting in his vehicle in front of his house when approached by the susupect. After words were exchanged, the suspect reached into the vehicle and forcefully removed the victim’s phone from his hand, a physical altercation ensued. As a result of the fight, the victim, who has a history of medical issues, collapsed and needed life saving measures. The suspect fled the area in his personal vehicle. The suspect was quickly identified and later interviewed.

Arrested is Jason Paul Sternquist (49) on two charges, with additional charges pending.

One charge of Battery Touch or Strike, a misdemeanor.

One charge of Burglary of an Occupied Conveyance Unarmed, a felony.

Our victim in this case is currently at Sarasota Memorial Hospital Main Campus in intensive care. Addition charges may be filed, depending on the outcome.
