City of Sarasota, FL: The City’s Office of Public Art will host a virtual meeting next week for the general public to join in the creation of a Public Art Master Plan for Sarasota.

Feedback gathered at the meeting will be incorporated into the master plan, a document that will provide a framework for how to implement public art citywide and how to prioritize different opportunities for public art that best serve the community.

“In order to have a plan that truly reflects Sarasota, we need to hear from our citizens on what types of art they want to experience and where they think it should go,” said Mary Davis Wallace, a senior planner with the City’s Office of Public Art. “The master plan and the input we receive from the community will help shape our city’s public art program for years to come.”

The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 10. To register and receive a Zoom link, visit sarasotaFL.gov/publicart or email [email protected].

The City has already hosted roundtables with local artists and business owners and conducted an online survey to gather the community’s feedback on public art as part of the master plan process.
