16 year-old is arrested in Tampa for the homicide of a teenager in Sarasota over the weekend

The Tampa Police Department, in coordination with the Sarasota Police Department, has made an arrest in the homicide that took the life of a 17 year old in the 2200 block of Palmadelia Avenue, Sarasota, on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Sha’Miya Williams, 16 years old, was arrested in Tampa and is being charged with Homicide and multiple counts of Attempted Homicide.
A second suspect, Thamar Liafortune, 16 years old, of Bradenton, is also being sought on the same charges for his involvement in the incident.
Three juveniles, ages 8, 17, & 17, were struck during the shooting. One of the 17 year-old victims died. The other two juveniles received non-life threatening injuries.
