VENICE, FL – Long time Venice resident, small business owner and first responder Nick Pachota is running to serve as the next Mayor of Venice. Pachota announced his candidacy after filing his paperwork with the City Clerk on Tuesday.
“As our city continues to navigate COVID, we need a Mayor who will put Venice first. I intend to be that leader for our great city,” Pachota said. “I will focus on the issues that unite our community: supporting law enforcement and first responders, defending our unique quality of life, fostering fiscally responsible budgets, embracing sustainable growth, and protecting our beaches and waterways so they can be enjoyed for generations.”
Pachota has a long history of leadership and serving the people of Venice. Starting as a kid bussing tables at his family’s restaurant, Nick’s track record of service continued as an appointee to the Venice Youth Advisory Board and as a Venice Police Explorer.
Pachota made serving and leading others a professional calling as a Paramedic, Firefighter, Fire Officer, and Law Enforcement Medic. Currently, Nick Pachota serves as the Vice Mayor on the Venice City Council and as a Team Commander under an umbrella of the Florida Department of Health. His team was activated in early 2020 and played a critical role in Florida’s response to COVID-19 that was used as a model across the country.
Nick and his wife Kate, a Registered Nurse at SMH-Venice, live in Central Venice and have two grown daughters. Nick is a co-owner of the Venice Pier Group, which includes Sharky’s on the Pier, Fins at Sharky’s, Snook Haven and Siesta Beach Eats.
