Sarasota car stop leads to an arrest on an outstanding warrant, narcotics and a stolen weapon

While you were sleeping, early this morning our patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which the driver was later determined to have a warrant for his arrest. Search incident to arrest located narcotics, narcotic equipment and a Norinco US SKS Rifle. Further investigation revealed that this rifle had been stolen during a residential burglary earlier this week. Multiple charges are pending to include possession of narcotics with intent to sell, Burglary and theft of a firearm. The name of the suspect is currently being withheld as the investigation continues.
