North Port police notify the public about a scam that is spoofing the NPPD number

We have received a number of concerns Saturday from citizens reporting that they received a call from one of our officers on a line identified as the NPPD main number. The spoof caller indicates that the individual has a warrant and that they need to arrange to pay bail money and not to tell anybody. It is not us. Please do not fall victim to this scam!
