North Port, Fla. – This year’s Women in Business forum takes place virtually on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 9 a.m. to noon via Zoom. The theme, “When Life Gives You Lemons…,” reflects the resiliency and creativity successful businesses have mastered. There’s no charge, and participants can join from anywhere in the country.

This is a first-of-its kind regional event designed for women in business, including emerging entrepreneurs or nonprofit professionals. This forum will provide practical guidance and inspiration to make the best out of any lemons life throws at you.

The forum includes a panel of local investors with a variety of backgrounds and experiences who will give participants a rare opportunity to hear first-hand what funders look for in a company. They will also give insights for entrepreneurs who need financing.

“The event is designed to inspire courage and enthusiasm, and to increase the likelihood of personal success,” stated North Port Economic Development Manager Mel Thomas. Ms. Thomas serves on the event committee and is the opening speaker.

Event Chair, Joanne Cumiskey of Vision Quest Leadership, added, “It will be fast-paced and entertaining while informing and providing solid information to support business growth.”

Talent from the North Port Art Center and local Toastmasters Clubs will provide entertainment during breaks and transitions. To top it off, there is a valuable coupon book and electronic workbook, as well as “door” prizes, exclusively for participants.

The event is presented by North Port Area Chamber of Commerce, Vision Quest Leadership, LLC, City of North Port Economic Development Division, and SCORE Chapter 318 -District 480. All have strong roles in the planning and presentation.

The “doors” open at 8:45 and the program runs until the noon Grande Finale, with an afterglow following until 12:15. To register, go to the North Port Area Chamber website at NorthPortAreaChamber.com. Enter “Lemons” in the search bar in the top right.
