City of Venice basketball courts at hecksher Park will be closed to replace the basketball goals

A contractor with Sarasota County Parks and Recreation will start work today (Friday 8/21) on replacing the basketball goals at Hecksher Park, 450 W. Venice Ave. across from Venice City Hall. The court will be closed over the weekend for use; however, the small basketball court will be available for play. Staff will lock the gate and post “Closed for Repair” signs. Depending on the weather, the contractor expects to be done sometime on Monday, Aug. 24. Your patience is appreciated as this work is completed.
