To our residents and visitors in the City of Sarasota, Government, we’ve said it before but we want to say it again. Rest assured we’re here for you and your families. We know the situation unfolding across our country can seem scary. Please know we are taking this very seriously and it’s all hands on deck. We’re continuing to be in constant contact with our community partners as well as our local law enforcement partners to continue to keep peace and security in our community. The safety of our community is a top priority for the men and women of the Sarasota Police Department.

We know you have questions. We know you’re concerned. Rest assured, we’re keeping watch and we’ll continue to serve and protect the beautiful City of Sarasota and all of its residents and visitors.

We do know about several peaceful protests that are scheduled in the City of Sarasota over the next several days and the men and women of the Sarasota Police Department have plans in place to ensure these are safe events for all those who are involved. We’re adding additional Officers to our shifts, both in uniform and not in uniform, for the near future just in case. We’re hoping for the best and have plans in place if any issues arise.

If you need us, call us. If you feel like something isn’t right, call us. If you see something out of the ordinary, call us. We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Sarasota Police Department non-emergency line is 941-316-1199 and for emergencies always, call 911. Stay safe and be kind to one another.
