Man found floating face down at Venice Beach

We are investigating an possible drowning at Venice Beach. A male in his 50’s is deceased.

Man drowned or heart attack around 5:30pm at Venice Beach after lifeguards left for the day. Attempted CPR as officers consoled the wife. He was face down and drifted downwind towards the pier.
