Incident Description
At about 5:10 PM June 15, 2020 a sewer spill was reported at the intersection of Golf View Dr and Cayman Isles Blvd in the Boca Royale development in Englewood. An outside contractor hit a four inch force main while doing some directional boring work. The contractor used their vacuum truck to vacuum up 800 gallons of wastewater and took that to another section of Boca Royale and discharged the tank into a storm water drain at that location. They filled another tank, but were informed that the leak was raw wastewater and are going to dump that load back into our system. The line was repaired and everything was back on line by 8:30 PM June 15, 2020. The total spill was about 4,000 gallons, of which 800 gallons was recovered. The rest of the spill entered storm water drains and entered storm water ponds. The ponds are now being sampled for fecal coliform.
