Sarasota, FL:  City of Sarasota administrative offices that have remained operational throughout the local public health emergency will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Garbage, recycling, and yard waste will be collected as usual.

Payne Park Tennis Center will be closed and will reopen Tuesday, May 26 at 8 a.m.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Memorial Day parade has been canceled.  The Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee announced the decision last month in consultation with the City of Sarasota.

In a unique opportunity for the Sarasota community, the cart path at Bobby Jones Golf Club, the City’s historic municipal golf course, will be open to the public for limited walking, running, bicycling and birding Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25.  Public access will be free, limited to the cart path, and available daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Proper social distancing will be strongly urged.

While City parks are open, playgrounds, public swimming pools and the Children’s Fountain remain closed.  More information about COVID-19 closures is available at SarasotaFL.Gov/COVID-19.
