The mean streets of Venice are being overrun by increasingly aggressive drivers

I am writing because drivers are becoming increasingly aggressive all over our town, but especially so on Pinebrook Rd between Edmondson Rd and Venice Ave.

Today I was traveling south beyond the S curves by Curry Creek, going about 5 mph over the 30mph speed limit with a few cars behind me. Of course they were tailgating me as I approached the entrance to PLC and had passed Pinebrook Way.

All of a sudden a woman at least 3 or 4 cars behind me was over the double yellow now in the northbound side and passing everyone. She was no kid, probably mid 50s to mid 60s in an older light gold color Crown Vic or similar vehicle probably at least 20 years old. I blew my horn as she blew by us all before I made my right turn into PLC.

The reason I’m writing is because I hope you will relay this info to our police chief because this is not a rare occurrence in our town any more. At least once a week I see someone cross the double yellow and pass on Pinebrook Rd. Obviously, and troubling, aggressive driving like this is getting more and more commonplace all over town.

I never thought I’d suggest this, but I’d like to see our local police dept start using a lot more unmarked vehicles in an attempt to catch the worst offenders.

Aggressive driving traffic-wise, our little town has changed dramatically for the worse in the last few years.
