Hurricane Ian updates: Evacuation center, food distribution site open
Francesco Abbruzzino, The Uncensored Report, LLC
CITY OF NORTH PORT, FL – A voluntary evacuation center continues to be open at Venice High School, 1 Indian Ave., for North Port residents who are displaced by flooding or concerned about flood waters near their home.
The evacuation center is pet friendly, and you can drive there if you are able. Bring your own drinking water, snacks, bedding and pillows, personal hygiene items, medications and anything else you may need for an extended period of time.
If you need transportation, buses are departing hourly from the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way, North Port. Additional shelters may open as needed.
