According to the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County, beach water samples taken yesterday, Monday, Aug. 1, at the Venice Fishing Pier and Brohard Park in Venice and Bird Key Park (Ringling Causeway) in Sarasota have come back with satisfactory results for enterococcus. The “No Swim” advisories for these beaches that have been in place since Thursday, July 28, have been lifted.

FDOH-Sarasota County officials received testing results that were at a satisfactory level for enterococcus bacteria meeting both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state recreational water standards.

Residents and visitors may return to swimming and other water sports at these beach sites.
