SCSO is currently responding to an officer-involved shooting in 700 blk of Palm Ave. Preliminary information indicates both deputies are OK. PIO is en route and will determine media staging location. All updates will come via Twitter. Although this incident occurred in the city of Sarasota, because our deputies are involved and we have a dedicated OIS (officer-involved shooting) investigations team, the sheriffs office will be the lead investigating agency.
