PBS Reporter Urges Biden To Reverse CDC’s Guidance on ‘No Masks Unless Vaccinated’ Because It Puts ‘People of Color At Risk’

Just when you think the mainstream media can’t get anymore ridiculous on COVID, the White House press pool raises the bar.
PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor asked Joe Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki to reverse the CDC’s guidance on no masks unless vaccinated because it puts “people of color at risk.”
Yes, really.
“The largest national nurses union is saying the CDC guidance on masks is putting frontline workers, especially people of color, at risk, and that they’re calling for the CDC to reverse that,” Alcindor said.
Unreal… @Yamiche just urged Jen Psaki to reverse the CDC guidance on no longer wearing masks once vaccinated because it puts "people of color at risk." pic.twitter.com/0Dw67a2nIT

“What’s the White House’s stance on that union in particular saying that their members and people of color are at risk?”
Notably, Alcindor routinely defended the CDC’s recommendations during the pandemic when it was politically expedient to do so.
CDC is recommending that events of 50 people or more not be held for about two months. The advisory doesn’t apply to the day-to-day operation of organizations such as schools or businesses — although many of those entities have taken steps of their own. https://t.co/uzP0XWWEcU

Dr. Fauci told @JudyWoodruff that the mask CDC guidance was changed because studies show the virus can be spread just by someone talking. He also stressed wearing a mask is to protect ppl wearing the masks from spreading the virus. https://t.co/yNZyW4CKgE

The key takeaway from today: Pres attacked CDC's virus guidelines so new ones are now coming next week.
VP Pence: "The president said today, we just don’t want the guidance to be too tough. That’s the reason why next week, the C.D.C. is going to be issuing a new set of tools."

WH Coronavirus Task Force is briefing at the Dept of Education as Pres Trump takes on and contradicts the CDC’s guidelines for re-opening schools.
“It’s time for us to get our kids back to school,” VP Pence says.
Many say govt isn’t using clear guidelines for how to do that. pic.twitter.com/d2SGht6N8H

New CDC guidelines: Fully vaccinated people can travel within U.S. and COVID testing or post-travel self-quarantine are not required as long as they continue to take COVID precautions while traveling – wearing a mask, avoiding crowds, socially distancing, and washing hands.

But as soon as the CDC relaxes mask rules for vaccinated people, Alcindor and many other Democrats are left powerless to signal their virtue or easily identify Republicans.
“…people whose main interest is not public health, but whose main interest is power, this new guidance is, as we often say in the news business, a ‘troubling development,’” Fox News host Tucker Carlson noted last week.
“For people like that, letting the vaccinated live without wearing masks raises all kinds of distressing questions beginning with: if people are permitted to dress any way they want to dress, how are we going to control them? And more to the point, if nobody has to wear a mask, how are we going to know who the Republicans are? How can we be certain who to scoff at? Who to feel morally superior to?”
