Sarasota resident arrested and facing charges of transmission and possession of child pornography

Alex Boyd, 22, of Old Bradenton Road, Sarasota, has been arrested and is facing charges of transmission of child pornography by an electronic device and possession of child pornography. Additional charges are possible.
On December 31, 2020, detectives with the Sarasota Police Department received notification from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force that they were sending a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about a suspected child pornography case.
Detectives confirmed the images found contained child pornography. Boyd was arrested on Thursday, January 21, 2021, and transported to the Sarasota County Jail. Boyd is out of jail on a $60,000 bond.
