Suncoast: Police are investing the death of 32-year-old Jamaal Brooks who died from gunshot wounds

Shortly after 7 am deputies were dispatched to a shooting, with a subject down behind a house in the 2100 block of 3rd Avenue East in Palmetto.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found the victim, later identified as Jamaal Brooks (32) lying on the ground, deceased with two gunshot wounds.

It is not known who was at the residence with Brooks prior to the shooting. Detectives do not have any suspects at this time or a possible motive.
