Thanks to some good ole fashioned police work, the suspect in Monday’s attempted bank robbery at TD Bank in Sarasota is now behind bars. Through investigation, detectives connected 46-year-old Roger Salik to a similar bank robbery that occurred in Tampa one week ago today. In both crimes, Salik wore similar clothing and face masks. On Thursday, Salik was located by the Daytona Beach Police Department  and during his booking process, relinquished the mask he wore during Monday’s robbery. While speaking with detectives, Salik claimed he has no ties to Florida and simply needed the money. He also admitted to taking a taxi cab from St. Pete to Sarasota to commit the crime. Originally from Pennsylvania, Salik is now temporarily residing in the Volusia County Jail until he is transferred to both Tampa and Sarasota to face his charges. Great work, detectives!
